Hashimoto Modern day is pleased to current Soaked Dream, a solo exhibition by Toronto-based artist Megan Ellen MacDonald. The exhibition will be MacDonald’s second solo presentation at Hashimoto Modern, and debut solo exhibition in New York Metropolis.

Employing 3D software and virtual truth to develop intricate scenes, the artist reinterprets these compositions via regular oil portray tactics informed by historical still daily life portray of the Dutch Golden Era. Continuing the exploration of contrasting themes of objectification and electricity, MacDonald expands on how these themes relate to the femme encounter by coded iconography.

For Wet Aspiration, the artist depicts distorted, opulent tableaus of normal factors stuffed with bouquets, skulls and fruit, which allude to the commodification and seduction in just an elaborate internal planet just one that clumsily mimics things of ours but maintains its very own one of a kind aesthetic. Shiny, overly ripe fruits and bouquets hold from delicate stems, drooping heavily from the fat. Shucked oysters tantalizingly connect with to the viewer, keeping a shimmering pearl at it’s center.
